Comparison between Wall-E and Big Hero 6
There is a new movie in town just release few weeks ago that catches a lot of interest to the neighborhood that is Big Hero 6. Thanks to the cute and chubby Baymax, the film become our daily conversation during tea break. If you ever watch the film Bolt, the director for the film is the director for Big Hero 6, that is Chris Williams, He also voiced for Ooken in the film Frozen. After watching Big Hero 6, it reminds me of a film back in the year 2008 that I watch when I was just a primary school girl. The film was Wall-E, it’s mainly about the adventure of 2 robot saving humans for returning back to earth in the future. These 2 science-fiction film are much likely similar to each other by comparing to the plot, theme, robot main character and human main character. Let see how comparable it was between Wall-E and Big Hero 6.
First of all, let see how similar was the plot. Both the movie’s exposition will be showing how the main character were living all along and that someone or something that changes their life. For Wall-E, he were doing his daily same routine on keeping the environment clean and nice, watching television with his buddy Cockroach and then came his love one Eve, one day. Wall-E was then exposed to the sensation of love and slowly learn and develop himself with new personalities and character. He was then decided to follow his dream girl and set off an adventure in saving man kinds. While for Big Hero 6, Hiro was initially involved with illegal bot fighting and was discovered by his brother, Tadashi. With Tadashi’s reverse psychology by bringing Hiro to his “nerd school”, Hiro is immediately attracted by what he sees and is inspired to change and join the same place. These 2 film have similar plot in a way that both main character is influenced by another character.
Next, will be the theme of the movie. Both the movie portray the theme love. In the movie wall-e is about love between 2 robots. Although wall-e was a robot, but he develop love sensation though watching televisions. Wall-e falls in love Eve from first sight where eve first came to earth. He take good care of eve when she was having low battery problem during the time in earth, dance with her and even willing to sacrifice for her. Next, in big hero 6 is much more towards the brotherly love between Hiro and Tadashi Hamada. Tadashi express his love towards his little brother by helping Hiro to accomplish his dream thought reverse psychology. In the other way, Hiro loves his brother so much that he was willing to do anything just to know the truth about his brother death and could even take revenge no matter what it takes. Both the movie shows love is all about caring and sacrificing for each other.
What is the similar characteristic of Wall-E and Baymax that viewer loves? First of all, both their main purpose is to help humans for a better future. For examples, Wall-E is invented to take care of the disposal wastage by human to protect and maintain the environment while Baymax is to play a role of every human personal care companion from their physical condition to their mental condition. Other than that, both of them develop their own personalities and emotions over times. Wall-E was originally programmed to manage trash into square boxes but then he learn how to decorate his little home from the weird trashes he collected while Baymax learn how to be a friend to Hiro and not just a personal health care robot anymore. To help others and how they develop their own personalities is their similarity.
After talking about the robot main character, now we look at correspondences characteristic of human main character in both films. That was Captain B. Mc Crea from Wall-E and Hiro Hamada from Big Hero 6. First of all, they both have a brave and determine character. Starting with the Captain, he shows his bravery and determination in the scene where he fight with Auto. He was brave enough to give himself a try to stand up on his own feet after decades of laying and sitting on his hoverchair. Other than that, he was very determine of letting humans going back to earth even though Auto tries to stop him from doing so. As for Hiro Hamada, He shows his bravery in the starting of the movie where he goes bot fighting alone. Then. He shows how determine he was to uncover the truth behind his brother death and also his determination of getting in to the “nerd school”. Their Bravery and Determination is how they achieve their dreams and accomplish their missions.
As for Wall-E and Big Hero 6, they both have different story plot, but the way they presented in are much likely similar. Other than that, the theme they portrays both are about love in different form. Both the robot characters express themselves as a helping friends for humans with personalities while both human characters demonstrate themselves as a brave and determine character. All of the evidence above shows how similar it was between these both film. There are much more similarities between these 2 films, take your time and watch it, understands the meaning behind each film. Animated film never harm, get inspiration from it, and learn from the character, be good.

Through this assignment, i learnt how to write an comparative essay, understands different genre of films. Other than that, i could understand, extract, synthesis and utilize information effectively into my essay. Critical thinking skills are involved when I brainstormed about differences between these two movies. but still, i need to work on my grammar mistakes more. Most of the marks are deducted due to my grammar mistakes and lack to creativity in writing an essay. My essay were way too boring compare to others in the market.
