ITEMS ARTWORK
Project 01B
For our second assignment, in a group of 4 we are require to create 10 artwork. We are to create 9 different A4 sized artworks, each featuring different design principle and 1 more artwork is the overall view of 9 artworks we made. We have to make it out of a specific and random daily material expressing one word. For examples wires, rubber bands, threads, straws, etc. The material our group were given are Plastic Raffia String. The theme we are going for is connect. We also have to select the type of background on which to set our artworks. My team for this assignment consists of Lee Ning, Loong Bo Lin, Yong Mun Kit and I.
Next, we are also need to create 2 A2 sized presentation boards showcasing and explaining our artwork in terms of design principles. The principles in question are:
-balance (symetrical or asymetrical)
-hierarchy
-contrast
-harmony
-pattern
-movement
-random
-radial
-emphasis
-repetition
-centralized

This assignment is new for us as we need to use daily materials to create artwork. For this assignment, i felt that we didnt did the best we can as we didnt really understand about the material characteristic and we didnt explore much what we can do with the raffia string instead we just using the same method for every single artwork making it looks boring.
the 10th artwork didnt really look nice as it didnt look as one for the 9 artwork. This is due to lack of communication. we seldom sit down together to discuss about how each and every artwork should be done as that is looks as one, instead we just divide it into individual work and work seperately for each artwork.
As the group, i reflect that it need alot of communication and discussion in order for a group to perform its best.
But overall i learn that every thing could be an art, we just need to explore more and think outside the box.
