Project o1 >> The story of Site
Project 1 is a quick study on the possibilities and different permutations of the comic book art form, and to utilise the medium in order to tell a narrative that is significant and meaningful to the author, based on a subject that is open to multiple readings and interpretations

We were to create a mini comic in the traditional booklet format, showcasing different techniques of using comics as a storytelling medium, from simple one panel comics to multilayered stories using various constraints to explore creative ways of narrative in relation to a site.

Through this project, i am able to:
1. Understand the staggered processes typical to producing a comic, and be able to plan and manage the organized production of their own work
2. Produce a series of sequential art monographs on a specific topic/ subject related to Architecture, with consideration on how the style of art presentation reflects architectural notions of detailing, spaces, proportions and themes.

Project o2A >> The Pitch
Comics are built to tell stories, and stories are told to represent abstract ideas and concept, convey histories and backgrounds, and to show examples of idealised characters or behaviours. This project seeks to find subjects that we are already familiar with (architecture, design, culture, buildings) and frame a short narrative to communicate their idea through the medium of comics. This includes designing backdrops, characters, story lines and layouts, within the limitations of an 12 page black and white comic medium. Design elements should complement the story adaptation, and the concept should be packaged and presented professionally.

The first stage before producing the final comic book was to have a individual presentation pitch to gain votes from other students. we were to produce our own story and to votes among ourselves to form a group of 3

Project o2B >> The Architecture of Comics
Objectives
The objectives of this project are as follows:
• To identify elements of narrative in a story and to replicate/reinvent it for a new setting
• To assemble a simple “pitch” package comprising of story, characters and setting design elements
• To develop skills in communicating the above in a spoken and visual presentation
Learning Outcomes
Appreciate the diversity of the medium, learning to identify styles and how they may be varied to adjust for the context of the narrative and/or concept

Task Methodology
Students will individually create their own proposal of a comic, describing the story covering one of the following themes:
• a concept or movement in Architecture/Design (e.g. “-ism” like modernism, futurism, etc)
• a streamlined retelling/adaptation of a significant event or historical vignette from Architecture/Design
• a story (or intertwined stories) that reflect ideas or lifestyles related to Architecture/Design concepts
The proposals will be presented with designs any characters, setting elements and a short synopsis identifying the concept/purpose of the story. You should also mention the style, tone and storyline of the proposed comic (may include references to precedents studies).

In a group of 3 we were to work on the selected comic from the original presentations to create a finished 8 to 12 page comic
