Project o1 >> Case Study of Building Services in Public Building
In a group of 6, we were to perform a case study on building services systems applied and installed in multi-storey buildings. Understand the common systems that are used in a bigger volume of spaces and a variety of users. This exercise helps to develop our own understanding in the application of building services to make a building technically functional. This discovery will be useful in the upcoming design studio projects to ensure that the building design proposals are practical and efficient.

Upon completion of this assignment, I am able to:
1. Identify and understand relevant information related to mechanical ventilation, air-conditioning system, mechanical transportation system as well as fire protection systems.
2. Understand the functions and purposes of building services systems.
3. Understand the statutory requirements and regulations involved in building designs and its importance towards practicality and public safety
Case Study
Project o2 >> Application of Building Services
Project 2 is an individual assignment on application of basic building services. This is an individual project to apply building services systems to a domestic sized building. This exercise were to demonstrate our understanding on the application by producing technical drawings incorporating the necessary building services.

We will be using our Design Studio final project for this assignment. The purpose of this exercise is to familiarize with the application of the systems and apply them in the design proposals. It will also demonstrate our understanding in applying what we have learnt from the module. It must have a site plan, building plans and roof plan. We will be demonstrating our understanding of building services by providing the most appropriate systems for the building, which include:
i) electrical supply system
ii) cold water and hot water supply system
iii) sewerage and sanitary system
iv) rainwater/ surface water drainage system

Upon completion of this assignment, I am able to:
1. Identify relevant information related to water and electrical supply, liquid waste disposal, sanitary and rainwater management system.
2. Describe the planning of building services within the design and construction peripheries.
3. Propose the more/most suitable systems for a specific type of building
