PROJECT o1 >> SOLID VS VOID "SHAPING LIGHT AND SPACE"
The task of this project is to produce a design by students chosen basic shape in an imaginary boundary of 12"x12"x12". Students were to recognize how intrinsic forms, limitation and bounderies of a material become a factor in design process. Most importantly know how to express a material within its contextual application.
Students are require to choose only one shape out of these following shapes:
- Sphere
- Cylinder
- Cuboid
- Cone
- Hexagonal prism
- Square-based pyramid
- Triangular-based pyramid
- Cube
- Triangular Prism
And only 3 material our of the following ( Atleast one transparent materials ):
- Hard plastic sheet
- Perspex
- Glass
- Cardboard
- Box
- Any types of tiles
- Wire Mash
- Aluminium sheet
- Balsa wood
- Plywood










PROJECT o2 >> MATERIALITY OF SPACE : AN EXPERIENTIAL EXPLORATION
In a group of 5, students are require to select a ammercial building ( fun, creative space ) which allow students to explre and experience most of the building materials that were covered in the module than students had learnt.
Commercial buildings cover:
- Shopping complex
- Shop lots
- Goverment or private office
- Galleries
Students are require to produce a complete documentation and analysis of materials in respect to chemical and physical properties. To identify the various types of building materials. Understand the effect of building materials on their aesthetic and structural value. Understand the appropriateness of building materials used. Understand the application and installation of materials.
Students were to produce the following :
- 1 introduction of selected building
- Mood Board
- Identification of materials ( draw out plan, explain briefly about the materials)
- Application of materials
- 1 individual board of selected space ( a case study )
